2025 #GetOutDoStuff Grant Winners

More winners than ever before!

This year the #GetOutDoStuff grant is going to support more adventures than ever before! Here's who got funded and what they're going to be doing this year!

2025 Awards

This year we had tonnes of applications for all three grant categories. We hope this funding can inspire lots more people to #GetOutDoStuff as well as enable this bunch of adventurers to take on their dream trips!

Armchair Adventurers Choice Award

We've already released that David Haze has secured £3,000 to fund his epic paddleboarding adventure in which he attempts to paddleboard the length of the Mediterranean. Follow @nomadicpaddler on socials to see how that goes!

Young Adventurers Award

Rebecca Parker – After much discussion this was awarded to Rebecca Parker. It was very closely fought with some incredible applications from some amazing young people but Rebecca won it! Rebecca will be walking the entire length of the Jeju Olle Trail, hiking a total of 437km in the beautiful landscape of Jeju Island, South Korea. She will be doing all 27 stages in one month and she will be raising awareness endometriosis, which is a chronic disease that affects 1 in 10 women and yet on average takes 8 years & 10 months to be diagnosed. Definitely worth following this journey and we'll keep you up to date with it!

Micro Adventurers Awards

This year we're going to fund more micro adventures than ever before. Here's who got funded and what they're up to:

Ross Tebbatt - Ross will be taking on a Micro Adventure that is particularly important to the #GetOutDoStuff grant. He will be taking on a Lands End to John O'Groats adventure recreating the route that Dave Martin took in Sep 2017 on his gateway to developing the #GetOutDoStuff initiative. Ross will be raising money and awareness for Beating Bowel Cancer charity as well as Crohn's and Colitis UK.

Ben Cross – Ben will hike the Balkan Peace Trail, a 192km hiking trail connecting Albania, Montenegro and Kosovo through a series of pathways straddling the Accursed Mountains. Ben was hoping to take on this trip shortly after getting married in 2022 but he got hit with health problems and had to have a bone marrow transplant but now, with the transplant a success, he has unfinished business in eastern-Europe! We'll keep you in the loop with how Ben gets on!

Adam Raska – Adam was funded for his big Scottish adventure last year and we've decided to fund him again this year for another adventure to Madeira. Adam is fighting a terminal cancer diagnosis and he embodies the #GetOutDoStuff ethos so we're super happy that we can help make another dream trip happen for Adam.

Stuart Holding – At the age of 74, Stuart will be running the Marathon des Sables and riding there to do it on his motorbike. This amazing adventure will involve taking on one of the toughest races on earth. Good luck Stuart!

Emily Lloyd-Huitson – Emily will be taking on an adventure to the outer Hebrides on her motorbike. She is living with a congenital heart condition called Long QT Syndrome (Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome). She will be raising awareness of living with this rare heart condition.

A total of 5 people were granted Micro Adventure funding to the maximum value of £500 each. This means that the #GetOutDoStuff grant has pledged a whopping £6,500 of funding this year!

We can't wait to follow these trips and we'll let you know how the 2025 grant winners get on!
