And then there’s Tiffany Coates — arriving in true Armchair style, on a motorbike… with an armchair strapped to it.
If that doesn’t earn you instant legend status, we’re not sure what does.
Tiff is one of those rare adventurers who combines serious experience with genuine warmth. A world-travelling motorcyclist, writer, speaker, and all-round brilliant human, she has ridden across continents, navigated challenging environments, and built a career around exploring the world with curiosity, confidence, and care.
But what really makes Tiff an Armchair Legend isn’t just where she’s been — it’s how she makes people feel.
She embodies everything we love about the Armchair spirit: openness, kindness, humour, and a belief that adventure should be welcoming, not intimidating. Whether she’s talking about travel safety, riding solo, or learning to trust yourself in unfamiliar places, Tiffany has a way of sharing hard-earned knowledge that feels reassuring rather than daunting.
At Armchair, she’s become a firm favourite. Her talks are practical, honest, and full of stories that make you laugh, nod along, and quietly think, “Yeah… maybe I could do that.” She reminds us that adventure isn’t about bravado — it’s about preparation, awareness, and believing you belong out there.
That’s why we’re absolutely delighted to welcome Tiffany Coates back to Armchair Adventure Festival this year. Seeing her roll back into the festival — armchair and all — feels like welcoming back family.
