Dust off those gladrags, it’s time for the Distinguished Adventure Film Night!

Join us this Sunday, 27th September at 19.30 BST for a free screening of A Kurdish Movie by our pals Claudio von Planta, the unflappable adventure cameraman of Long Way fame, and no-nonsense adventure biker Billy “Biketruck” Ward. Not only that, we’re raising money for the Movember Foundation and the most distinguished looking Armchair Adventurers will win two tickets to ABR Festival 2021!

A Kurdish Movie takes Claudio and Billy to the war-torn Kurdistan region of Iraq, where they visit the front line in Mosul, ride police bikes in a city centre parade and stay with the Peshmerga (meaning “those who face death”), the Kurdish guerrilla force. It’s edge-of-your-seat stuff, and you’ll also get the chance to take part in our live Q&A with them afterwards, so be sure to join in and get inspired. To watch the film you just need to sign up for your free front row seat here.

Free screening of A Kurdish Movie!

Why not make a day of it? It is no coincidence that Sunday is also the day of the Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride, which since its birth in 2012 has raised over $24m for men’s health related charities. Usually, well-dressed folk the world over with impeccable taste in threads and classic bikes take to the streets to celebrate all things dapper whilst raising money for charity. This year’s event is slightly different of course, as most things in 2020 are. In order to keep community spirits high whilst complying with social distancing rules, the format this year is to “ride solo, together” rather than riding en masse as we have done in previous years. If you need an excuse to get out on your bike this weekend, this is it!

Get your gladrags on as best dressed on film night will win two tickets to ABR Festival 2021!

The charity we’re all raising money for is the Movember Foundation, so reach for the wax and curl those ‘taches, guys! In fact, don’t leave it there – we’ll be giving prizes to the best-dressed attendees, so if you fancy bagging yourself two tickets to the 2021 Adventure Bike Rider Festival and all sorts of Armchair Adventure Festival merch, make sure you’re looking the part! All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning is tweet in or post a picture in the Facebook group of you looking distinguished for the film night.

So, here at the Armchair Adventure Festival, we’ve sorted your weekend (well, half of it); ride in style for a very worthy cause during the day and wind down in the evening with a gripping adventure film from two of the adventure biking world’s favourite characters. We’re putting all of this on for free, but if you fancy donating to the Movember Foundation, there’ll be a tip jar on the night, or you can do so right now here.

To get you in the mood, why not watch Claudio and Billy at the last Armchair Adventure Festival – neither of them are short on crazy stories, so you won’t be disappointed.

While we’ve got you, don’t forget to grab your free front row seat to the next Armchair Adventure Festival when you’ll be able to watch more live interviews and presentations with adventurers like Claudio and Billy from the 27th – 29th November – just sign up for free here.
