Meet the Maverick Storyteller: Damien Gabet Joins Armchair!

If curiosity had a rucksack, a wildly entertaining vocabulary, and a tendency to notice things most of us walk straight past, it would probably look a lot like Damien Gabet.
A travel writer, broadcaster, and professional wanderer, Damien has made a career out of turning journeys into stories that linger long after you’ve read them. He’s written for The Guardian, The Times, The Telegraph, Adventure.com, and a whole host of other publications, always with that signature mix of tongue-in-cheek intelligence, playful curiosity, and an eye for the wonderfully odd.
But Damien isn’t just about where he goes — it’s how he goes there, and what he notices along the way. Whether he’s tracing a centuries-old pilgrimage, uncovering a hidden corner of a city, or following threads of curiosity simply because they caught his attention, Damien’s storytelling feels unpredictable, funny, and always human.
This year at the Armchair Adventure Festival, we’re thrilled to welcome Damien to the stage, where he’ll bring unpredictable wisdom, laughter, and the kind of stories that remind us why we love to explore, ask questions, and pay attention to the world around us.

If You Can’t Get Enough of Damien…
