We’re called ‘The Sidecar Guys’ as we are the first people to ever circumnavigate the globe on a scooter and sidecar and hold the official Guinness World Record for the longest journey on a scooter with a sidecar. The trip aimed to raise funds and awareness for modern slavery charities. You can watch a film about the first part of the trip from London To Cartagena on this page.

Many of you will know but just in case you've not heard, you can now read all about the record breaking journey in our book 'Our Ridiclous World Trip'

This fast-paced, often-humorous travel book tells the truly ridiculous story of how two British friends, Matt Bishop and Reece Gilkes, became the first people to circumnavigate the globe on a scooter with a sidecar. Their world-record-breaking 34,000-mile-long journey took them through thirty-five countries and across five continents. With no experience of mechanics, overlanding, or even riding motorbikes, the pair took their Honda scooter and barn-built sidecar through some of the world’s toughest environments, including a scorching Sahara Desert and the frozen wilds of a Siberian winter.

The Sidecar Guys Ural Experience Centre
We’re absolutely delighted to announce that we’ll be becoming the Official Ural Motorcycles Representatives in mainland UK and will soon be launching ‘The Sidecar Guys Ural Experience Centre’.
Once launched, ‘The Sidecar Guys Ural Experience Centre’ will be the perfect place to work out if riding a Ural is for you, based in the North East of England we’ll be taking people off on mini Ural adventures giving them the opportunity to learn how to ride a sidecar both on and off road. It will also act as mainland UK’s point of sale, meaning we’ll be the guys to contact if you’re thinking of purchasing one in the future!
We’re so excited to get started on this project and cannot wait to receive our Ural which will be coming soon!... Yes that means as ‘Sidecar Guys’ we’re going to be permanently out on the road, on three wheels!
