Day 23: Read — When adventures don’t go exactly to plan
Not every adventure runs smoothly… and sometimes that’s where the best stories come from!
Case in point: last year at Armchair Adventure Festival, our Silent Disco somehow wasn’t so silent. One night, festival-goers danced beneath the Cornish stars to classic boyband tunes — only for “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” to accidentally blare over the intercom at HMS Raleigh, waking hundreds of unsuspecting Royal Navy sailors.
The lesson? Even a hiccup or mishap can turn into a story worth telling. It’s a reminder that adventure is as much about the unexpected moments — the laughs, the chaos, and yes, even the boyband alarms — as it is about the perfectly planned ones.
